Sizing and Saving Images for Digital Competitions.
1. Open Image
Go to Image>Image Size See PDF 03 Image Size
2. In the Image size box tick resample image. See PDF 04 Image Size
3. Change thePixel Dimensions Width to 1400 pixels (if a landscape image) SEE also NOTE BELOW
or Height 1050 pixels(if a portrait image) - the other dimension will automatically adjust.
NOTE: If the image is square make sure the vertical sides are no more than 1050 pixels .
NOTE The above is similar for both Photoshop CS* and Photoshop Elements
4. Click Ok
5. Convert to sRGB colour space(CSPS- Edit/Convert to Profile/Select sRGB IEC61966-2.1 in Destination
Space. Click OK.) See PDF 01 Convert to Profile and PDF 02 Convert to Profile.
IN PSE go to Image/Convert Colour Profile and from the flyout box select 'Apply sRGB profile' This then
automatically converts the profile.) See PDF Convert to Profile PSE
5. Save as a TIF image.
It is important to have a larger image before converting rather than a smaller one.
6. Save the image as following example:
Your name_Title.tif
e.g: Tom Smith_Red Bus.tif
Note that the titling method may change according to the requirements of the Southern Federation rules.
Any changes will be posted on this site
NOTE: You will be required to produce another set of the same images using the same method as above
but this time resize to 1024 pixels (landscape) or 768 (portrait).( If a square image is used the vertical
sides must not be more than 768 pixels). Then put both sets onto a cd (or flash drive) and hand to the
Competition Sec. (Make two folders and label one '1400 images' and the other '1024 images' and place
the appropriate images in the said folder.)
