Immersing oneself in photography can enhance wellbeing and help create wonderful memories. During the year, members have the opportunity to attend and participate in a number of workshops and lectures given by Society members and professional photographers. All members are encouraged to enter our regular print and PDI competitions throughout the season. During the summer months we organise social evening trips to capture images of the surrounding area. Every two years we also hold an exhibition in Petersfield, when members can display a selection of their work.
Here’s what some of our members have said about joining PPS.
Photography was mostly confined to family and holiday snaps until later in life when more free time combined with the advent of digital photography widened the opportunity and rekindled the interest. This was boosted by joining PPS which has provided so much more focus, knowledge and interest.

When I joined PPS about four years ago it was a turning point for me. You find a lot more people with the same sort of passion to take photos, with lots of different styles and subjects. You can learn many more skills from them, and they are always happy to help.

I have been interested in photography for a number of years now, but it is only since I have joined Petersfield Photographic Society that I feel I have developed the confidence to photograph people and exhibit them to the public.

The natural world has always fascinated me, and I enjoy the challenges of taking images of places, people and wildlife. Being a member of PPS has enabled me to produce better work, exploring different techniques that I might never have considered.

We meet on most Wednesday evenings 7.30-10.00 from September to June in the Exhibition Room at the Petersfield Community Centre, Love Lane, Petersfield, Hampshire GU31 4BW. Free parking is available.
